What do we do about child care?
Many of our families have been challenged by COVID-19. Child care providers are operating at reduced capacity or experienced closures. Family incomes may have been affected, which leaves fewer resources for child care. We are still uncertain what "school life" will look like in the fall and so don't know how to plan for child care that allows us to work. More than that, many of us don't know what our new workforce transformation options will look like.
Iowa State's Work-Life Team continues to examine and collaborate with our families to explore solutions together. Tuesday, June 30th, join our ISU community of parents for a special brainstorming session to explore:
• what families need now and as we approach school accommodations for COVID that may pose challenges
• information about resources available
• how our ISU community could create support systems for child care
• ways to go forward and advocate for our families as we address uncertainties and challenges
We look forward to having you join our discussion co-hosted by Cris Broshar, WorkLife Specialist and Dara Wald, Assistant Professor.
